For those who don’t know, TekCamp was a week of technical try dives, seminars, workshops and presentations hosted by the very lovely people at Vobster Quay inland dive site. The event included the top 10 UK Instructors who had been invited by Vobster and was aimed at introducing a whole bunch of new ideas and skill to divers who were interested in technical diving but may not have tried it yet. With try dives available on a number of different rebreathers, plus sidemount try dives, DPV try dives and skills workshops both on dry land and underwater, there was a host of things to do and toys to play with even for some of the more seasoned tech divers who turned up for the fun.
Lunchtimes at Vobster included a number of the Instructors giving presentations on anything from wreck trips to how to analyse your gas, and each evening had a keynote presentation from some of the world’s leading explorers (including your’s truly) and some of the other Instructors on anything from deep cave expeditions to decompression theory.
